Our Director, Cynthia Brasseux, has 10 years of experience teaching preschool in Montgomery County.  She has a BS in Microbiology, an MA in Health Education and Maryland Early Childhood certification.  Prior to teaching, Cynthia worked extensively in pediatric clinical research.  She brings to Spring Knolls her belief that childhood is a time of curiosity, creativity, joy and wonder and that play-based education fosters the growth of the whole child.

Our Pre-K teacher, Fern Chamberlain, brings over 20 years of experience in both pre-school curriculum and school administration. With music, art, drama and creative movement, she provides a rich assortment of classroom activities. Fern earned an MA in Early Childhood Education. She founded a childcare center outside Ithaca, NY and has taught college courses in child development.

Our 3s teacher is Rafael Tovar. Originally from Venezuela, "Mr. Rafael" has over 15 years of experience teaching young children. He directed a kindergarten serving 200 children in El Salvador. In the classroom, Rafael's hands-on approach to language studies, music, art and cooking enables children to learn about themselves, others, their surroundings, and various cultures.

Our 2s teacher is Mandy Joholske.  Mandy has more than 10 years of experience teaching preschool, first, and second graders in Fairfax and Montgomery Counties. Mandy has a BA in Elementary Education, and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction. Returning to Spring Knolls as an experienced two's teacher she brings the classroom to life with silly songs and stories, imaginative art projects, and engaging circle time.
